Soft wash — very low pressure, plus a cleaning agent. Soft washing uses very low pressure as well as a chemical cleaning agent such as sodium hypochlorite to kill the organic growth on the surface. The majority of siding materials such as vinyl or cedar are far too delicate to be pressure washed.
Roofs
Asphalt shingles need special attention. Very low pressure, to take off the moss, lichen and algae without damaging the shingles — which extends the roof's useful life as well as its appearance.
